When, about 10 years ago, I started to attend the meetings of the FDI, I realised that the matters under discussion were essential for the practice of our profession.
Then and now the growing influence of globalisation affected dentistry, both directly and indirectly.

The global crisis that affects us will chance some of the traditional paradigms of our professional practice.
The FDI, as the main organization representing the oral health sector, must be one step ahead of this situation.
I am absolutely sure that new and fascinating opportunities will arise from this period we are living.
It’s up to us all to help the FDI to identify them and, mostly, to help society and oral health professionals to internalize them
